Michael Schaff, Rest in Peace
It is with a mixture of deep gratitude and heavy hearts that we share that our friend, Michael Leo Schaff, passed away on Wednesday morning. Michael passed with his hands held on each side by people he loved who loved him. We had the privilege of getting to celebrate him last night, all packed into his room, shoulder to shoulder, some of us sitting on the ground, getting to honor his wish of getting to hear “anything good” about him at the end of his life.

Remembering and Celebrating Lisa
We lost our dear friend and coworker Lisa to cancer in July. Lisa came to Ontario through the Lutheran Volunteer Corps and shared life with us for two years. Her cheerful presence, gift for thoughtful connection, and tireless helping hands made a tremendous impact in our home and on our lives.

Our Brother Andrew, Rest in Peace
It is with great grief, shock and sadness that the L’Arche Greater Washington D.C. community shares the news of the passing of our dear brother Andrew. Andrew died Tuesday morning, following a short illness. His mom, stepdad, dad and sister were at his bedside. Andrew was able to hear our messages, have songs sung, books read, and see us on FaceTime, all in keeping with his planned wishes.
