I’m not scared anymore.
Nervous, Joseph rode the elevator up to the rooftop floor of the L’Arche office. Still in his first months in L’Arche as a new core member, Joseph was here to have a portrait photo taken of him to hang in his home. Stepping off the elevator and onto the roof, Joseph squeezed the hand of Meredith. Unbeknownst to her and other L’Arche assistants, Joseph was scared of heights.

Advocacy Action Alert!
We are deeply concerned by cuts to Medicaid that are included in the legislation that passed the House Energy & Commerce committee this week. While the proposed cuts do not explicitly target disability services, there are substantial cuts proposed that will impact State Medicaid budgets and lead to even more red-tape and administrative work to confirm eligibility for services every 6 months.

Michael Schaff, Rest in Peace
It is with a mixture of deep gratitude and heavy hearts that we share that our friend, Michael Leo Schaff, passed away on Wednesday morning. Michael passed with his hands held on each side by people he loved who loved him. We had the privilege of getting to celebrate him last night, all packed into his room, shoulder to shoulder, some of us sitting on the ground, getting to honor his wish of getting to hear “anything good” about him at the end of his life.
