Join L’Arche GWDC as we enter into deeper dialogue on topics that shape and influence our world and life together. During these events, expert(s) in their field share their experiences and insights with us. After the speakers, there will be a time for conversation to reflect and expand upon what the speaker shared.
All are welcome in this virtual inclusive space as we learn, explore, and grow together.
We have one more event coming up!
NEXT UP: Spirituality of L’Arche March 17, 7-8pm EDT
For this event, we will to center ourselves in the spirituality of L’Arche, the many threads of faith and liturgies that make us who we are. We’ll discuss the formation and themes of the spirituality of L’Arche and folks’ personal experiences of spirituality at L’Arche. We’ll have time for discussion in breakout rooms as well!
Thank you to everyone who came out to our first two events!
We learned a lot at “Human-centered health” event. Meghan Chin, medical student, spoke about needing the representation of people with disabilities in medical training. Charles Clark, core family member, reminded us about the urgent need for accessible medical offices. Dr. Constance Battle talked about speaking directly to people with disabilities, ensuring their voices guide their medical care experience.

We also had a great discussion at our Making a Living with a Disability event, where we heard from the team at Jake’s Ice Cream, a shop run by people with and without disabilities. Team member Tim shared: “Some people might doubt what people with disabilities can do…definitely some ableism…and probably also like they might have not met people with disabilities so they might not know what we’re capable of.”
