Dear Friends,
We lost our dear friend and coworker Lisa to cancer in July. Lisa came to Ontario through the Lutheran Volunteer Corps and shared life with us for two years. Her cheerful presence, gift for thoughtful connection, and tireless helping hands made a tremendous impact in our home and on our lives.
Lisa helped wherever there was need and did it joyfully and thoroughly. Her quirky sense of humor kept us laughing and lighter in spirit on the hard days. She delighted in simple things—a grocery run for that thing we forgot, working on puzzles in the TV room, walking with Eileen to work—and put her whole self into whatever was before her.
Lisa’s unexpected illness and passing have been difficult these past months, but as we grieve and remember, we’re deeply grateful for her life and friendship and the lasting imprint her heart and hands made here. Details to follow for a memorial service planned for early September.
Sincerely,
Ontario House
