As a new member of L’Arche Greater Washington, D.C.’s board of directors, Christine Madigan’s dream is to see communities spring up in more places around the country.
Christine was familiar with L’Arche through the writings of founder Jean Vanier and theologian Henri Nouwen, but it was board president Fr. Tom Gaunt who helped her make a personal connection to the community in Greater Washington.
“I was moved by the humanity of everyone at L’Arche and the extravagance of recognizing everyone’s dignity,” Christine said. “I have friends and family members who need a community like L’Arche in their local areas.”
Christine joined the board in January 2012, bringbing twenty-plus years of expertise in real estate and long-range planning to the table. She is a senior vice president of development at Enterprise Homes, Inc. Christine lives in Washington with her husband, Steve Callahan. She loves to run, spend time with family and friends, read, and travel.
