Yesterday, June 8, 2017 was the annual online #DoMore24 Campaign organized by the United Way of the National Capital Area (United Way NCA). Every year this day-long campaign works to promote and support the fundraising needs of local nonprofits in and around the District. This year’s campaign had the theme ‘Start Your Activism @ Home’ and focused on relieving pressure from nonprofits facing potential severe budget cuts.
According to the Do More 24 Website, the 2017 campaign brought in a whopping total of $1,667,941!
L’Arche GWDC’s Kate Langevoort and Eileen Schofield (pictured here) represented our community at the #DoMore24 ‘Start Your Activism @ Home’ Block party. Located at the PEPCO Edison Place Gallery near the Chinatown/Gallery Place Metro Station.
Wearing L’Arche t-shirts, they passed out information about L’Arche, watched a step group perform, visited the pet adoption station to pet kittens, and even picked up a little ‘swag’ for themselves! When asked about the experience, Eileen said, “We was having fun!”
Together we raised $1,592 for L’Arche GWDC during #DoMore24!
