agape | a poem

i made a mistake
and now i wait

wonder
worry

hide myself as i am overcome by
shame

doubt
blame

guilt
fear that this will be the

final straw
last chance

make-it-or-break-it-oh-no-i-broke-it moment that will leave me
alone

rejected
broken

cast aside on the junk pile of my failures
and instead i then encounter

forgiveness
grace

love that left behind conditions and let me fall but caught me as i stumbled
always love
