At the end of Pat Sieg’s first dinner at L’Arche he thanked his host, Eric Arntson, and said he’d love to come back again some time.

“How about tomorrow?” Eric quipped.

Pat couldn’t make it the next night, but he did agree to join the L’Arche Greater Washington, D.C.’s board of directors at their January 11 meeting.

Pat’s 36 years in finance and change management at Marriott Corporation led him to live in the Middle East and Europe, and finally to early retirement and an opportunity to give back by serving on the L’Arche board.

“I’d like to make a difference and help grow the community,” Pat said. His experience in finance, human resources, and helping ease an organization through transformation and change will be vital to L’Arche as it continues to implement its strategic plan. At his first board meeting he was confirmed treasurer, replacing long-time board member Chapman Taylor who stepped down in January.

Pat and his wife, Lisa, live in Maryland and have been going on daily two-mile walks together since their three children (now adults) were small. Pat enjoys skiing in Colorado and playing tennis, and will be getting in touch with his artistic side through an oil painting class this winter.

Pat served on the L’Arche Greater Washington, D.C. board through 2015.
